Επακόλουθα, οι τιµές των προθεσµιακών συµβολαίων που αφορούν τη φετινή σοδειά (Μάιος και Ιούλιος) καταγράφουν απώλειες, ενώ οι τιµές ∆εκεµβρίου ‘24 στέκονται καλύτερα. Γι’ αυτό η διαφορά Ιουλίου – ∆εκεµβρίου µειώνεται σταδιακά. Στη φυσική αγορά οι µεγάλοι καταναλωτές ίνας αγοράζουν κυρίως βραζιλιάνικα βαµβάκια, τα οποία και προσφέρονται αρκετά χαµηλότερα σε σχέση µε τις ανταγωνιστικές σοδειές.

Οι τιµές για τη φετινή σοδειά που κυκλοφορούν δεν ικανοποιούν τους εκκοκκιστές και ως αποτέλεσµα δεν σηµειώνονται πολλές πωλήσεις, παρά το γεγονός ότι τα φετινά αποθέµατα υπολογίζονται περίπου στους 65.000 µε 70.000 τόνους. Με τη σηµερινή ζήτηση θα είναι δύσκολο να απορροφηθούν αυτές οι ποσότητες σύντοµα, µε αποτέλεσµα να µεταφερθούν στη νέα σοδειά, αυξάνοντας έτσι τη συνολική προσφορά. Σχετικά µε τη νέα σοδειά, οι αγοραστές πληρώνουν περίπου 2 σεντς πριµ επί των χρηµατιστηριακών τιµών, ενώ οι εκκοκκιστές αναβάλουν τις νέες πωλήσεις µέχρι να δουν την πορεία των σπορών.
