Μια τέτοια δράση ήταν πάγιο αίτημα των Γερμανών οινοπαραγωγών και σε πρόσφατη έκθεση για τον οινικό κόσμο, η Γερμανίδα Υπουργός Γεωργίας, Διατροφής και Προστασίας του Καταναλωτή Γιούλια Κλέκνερ, ένα από τα πρωτοκλασάτα στελέχη των Χριστιανοδημοκρατών, δεσμεύτηκε στους παραγωγούς πως το επιτελείο της ετοιμάζεται να δουλέψει προς την κατεύθυνση αυτή και να ετοιμάσει πρόταση που θα προβλέπει την χρήση κοινοτικών πόρων για την προώθηση οίνου εντός της ευρωπαϊκής αγοράς.
«Αφού το θέλουν οι Γερμανοί, θα γίνει», σχολίασε ο Σταύρος Τσουρουκίδης, ανταποκριτής της εφημερίδας Lebensmittel Zeitung, ο οποίος μετέφερε την είδηση κατά την διάρκεια συζητήσεων στο πλαίσιο του του Wine and Currant Marketing Forum, που διοργάνωσε το Ελληνογερμανικό Εμπορικό και Βιομηχανικό Επιμελητήριο, η BASF Ελλάς ΑΒΕΕ και η Τράπεζα Πειραιώς, υπό την αιγίδα του υπουργείου Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης στο ξενοδοχείο Domotel Kastri την Πέμπτη 9 Μαΐου.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πάντως, πως αν υπάρξει τελικά μια τέτοια εξέλιξη, δεν αποκλείεται να εφαρμοστούν αντίστοιχα προγράμματα προώθησης και σε άλλα αγροτικά προϊόντα.
